Ideas for Life
There are millions of good ideas lying dormant in the minds of people. Ideas that could improve the conditions for the planet and its inhabitants. What's stopping you bringing yours to life?
You are carrying a few good ideas, but you're always busy. You have an appreciation of the finitude of life, and a nagging sense of future regret if you procrastinate.
This takes a couple of minutes. Finitude is a project that got narrowed to one — it's the product of this process. This is a very early version for testing. The goal is a platform that helps bring ideas for life, to life.
Bring only ideas that you'd genuinely be sorry to see slip out of sight. Ideas do not have to be huge in scale — they could be very personal, local, or creative. Do not pad the list — a made-up idea teaches you nothing about prioritization or urgency.
Nothing is stored, nothing is sent, there is no account. Yet.
Ideas you are carrying right now — not everything you have ever thought of.
One line each. Not goals, not habits — ideas. Something would be observably different in the world if it existed.
You would not regret leaving it, and it does not occupy you when you are not made to think about it. That is not a failure of will. It is information, and you have had it for a while.
An idea you are not going to chase still costs something to carry — it occupies the slot where a live one would go, and it supplies a small steady sense of being behind. Putting it down is the useful move, and it is not the same as giving up.
If that lands wrong — if something in you objected while reading it — that objection is the real signal, and the idea is more alive than the answers suggested. Run it again and answer faster.
Select every one that qualifies. The rest are out.
Everything left survived every test, which means no process is going to decide this for you. Pick one.
If it cannot be reduced to a single action that needs nobody's permission and fits inside a week, it is not an idea yet. It is a wish.
Write those two lines somewhere you will see them. Come back in ninety days and run it again with whatever you are carrying then — if something new beats your live idea twice running, you are on the wrong one.
Finitude is being built around this: a few ideas held, one advanced, one line a week, a reckoning each season. Small, paid, no advertising, no feed.
